Rotary Club of Sidcup and their Donation

Have you ever had one of those days that just tick by with nothing special or memorable happening during the course of that day? You finally get home and carry out your normal routine of feeding the pets and then opening your mail for the day to see what bills are awaiting you?

Well Tuesday the 28th of November’s post turned out to be quite a surprise. Enclosed in a normal white envelope was a donation to the LifeStraw project from the Rotary Club of Sidcup. We receive many donations each week but this one was alittle different to most.

Thinking that my eyes where telling me lies I fetched my reading glasses to clearly identify the figures printed on the cheque. Surely this was a mistake but the words and numerals all tied up. Sitting in my hand made out to the Rotary Club of Brynmawr Water Projects from the Rotary Club of Sidcup was a cheque for £15,000.00!!!

You can only imagine how great I felt and how appreciative our project was to receive such a huge amount of money towards our club’s project. Needless to say a call was made immediately to the club’s President Rotarian Chris Clayton to thank him and his club personally for their clear acknowledgement of our project and for their impressive humanitarian contribution. This is truly a club that is ‘leading the way’.

Please accept our project’s most sincere thanks to all those involved in the fundraising events undertaken by your club, its members and from the public in your area who without a doubt contributed greatly to the final sum.
